Password login deprecation will break Home Assistant

It looks like Tado is removing support for password login on their API today.

This will break Home Assistant. Please delay the removal.

They have deferred it to 21st.

  • It seems to be broken now. My Home Assistant is no longer able to connect to Tado.

Hello Montaje. Thank you for your collaboration.
Yesterday, I managed to reintegrate tado into my HA, version 2025.4.0.

Glad to hear. Nice that it’s sorted.

  • This isn't sorted out. Now we get reauthentication request often (up until once per day). This is unworkable. Exit Tado I guess. Another system botched by the insistence of the vendor to use cloud.

It’s it really anything to do with cloud. And yes, you can vote with your feet.

  • Ours is working correctly again now since updating HA to version 2025.4.0. Not getting any reauthentication requests.

I, on the other hand, do receive requests for updates, but I think we need to be clear that a topic as complex as programming isn't easy to solve the first time, no matter how much effort is put into it.
I want to remind you that we're talking about an unofficial application, which continues to exist thanks to the efforts of volunteers who maintain these types of applications in their free time, collaborating with the user community.
My deepest gratitude to those volunteers.
