Confused on setup - underloor heating + radiators (TadoX)
Hi,
In the middle of a house renovation and struggling to understand the setup I should be going for.
House setup is as follows-
- Basement = 4* radiators (and where of CV Ketel / Gas boiler is located)
- Ground floor = underfloor heating throughout
- 1st floor= underfloor heating throughout
- 2nd floor = 4* radiators
Currently I have purchased the items shown below (+ 2 more TRV's, realise I need more)
Purchased this based on some internet research back in November last year, but when I look at -
it's suggesting different setup.
And assuming this is correct, I have no idea at all on which of those options would be best.
The gas boiler is new and having the plumbing/heating professionally installed, but they don't seem to have experience with the Tado system, so want to provide as clear instructions as possible for them in how to set things up.
My plumbing / heating knowledge is non-existent unfortunately - current apartment has a Nest installed, which doesn't really have different options in terms of setup.
Perfectly happy to buy additional Tado items / sell pieces I've purchased in error, but would be great to be able to give the plumber/electrician some very clear guidance on what to do.
Any advice much appreciated!
Thanks,
Nick

I’d have thought the professionals would be giving you the advice.
You seem to be aiming to separate and control each zone, but I can offer no comment on whether that makes any sense. Assume the Tado devices will just offer a signal to switch on a given zone when the temperature is below the set temperature. They can provide a zone valve to any zones you want to control.

Montage,
Yes - idea would be that we could control
- Basement: individual rooms (TRV's on radiators - does this mean one zone or multiple zones?)
- Ground floor: control as one zone
- 1st floor : control as one zone
- 2nd floor: individual rooms (TRV's on radiators - does this mean one zone or multiple zones?)
The second Tado article suggests three different options (four including heat pump)
Given I'm starting from scatch with a new setup (and new heating system) and have zero experience of using Tado, trying to understand which I should be going for. And need to have the right hardware available for when the final setup is going to take place.
I don't have one of these, as didn't buy a "Wireless Smart Thermostat X - Starter Kit". Do I need one of these to connect to the CV Ketel/Boiler?
Thanks,
Nick
