Replace NEST Gen3 with Tado V3+
I have an old but perfectly good Bosch Greenstar R40 HE Plus Combi (UK) which has been controlled with a Nest Gen3 for a number of years but now giving problems and I can get a Tado V3+ Thermostat Wireless Starter kit for a great price.
My Next Heatlink is wired directly from the boiler and the thermostat is wirelessly connected to it, is the cable currently feeding the heatlink OK to be used to connect to the Tado receiver and if so are the connections the same? Terminals T1 and T2 are not used on my Nest as it's connected wirelessly.

It’s probably just a normal switched live setup, so a like for like swap.

Yes it was other than my black switch wire being next to the live feed rather than a 1 position gap.
Nest = Blue-Briown GAP Black-Grey
Tado = Blue-Brown- Black GAP Grey
I disconnected the cable from the Nest and wired it into a junction box and connected the supplied Tado Receiver cable into the junction box.
I think in a switched live system there may be a link from Brown to Black but maybe mine was linked at the boiler end but I did not open up the boiler so I can’t be sure, I’m no expert so don’t take my word for it,
Everything appears to be working correctly.1 -
Thanks, my Nest already comes from a junction box so hopefully it's all very easy!
