Tado & wet UFH - Floor Sensors for LVT
Hi all,
I can't find a definitive answer. I'm a current tado radiator user but am getting underfloor heating installed in a few weeks. We're planning on putting LVT down as our flooring but am being told that I need to install floor sensors to protect it
LVT typically has a maximum temperature limit, often around 27°C.
- Going over that can:
- Warp or discolour the vinyl.
- Void the manufacturer’s warranty
- Floor sensors work with thermostats to stop the heating when the floor gets close to that limit
However I can't get a definitive answer from anyone whether Tado's thermostats support this or if anyone has found a solution for it? Otherwise i'm going to have to install Heatmiser neoStat and try and find a way to bridge the two.
Thanks

The system should be designed to not exceed a reasonable flow temperature for the floor covering.

Thanks Montage, how do they do that exactly though? As the boiler would have to be set at 1 temperate for the upstairs radiators and then less to sort the downstairs UFH.

Hopefully they know what they are doing. Yes, boilers can only output the one temperature at a time. Using some kind of mixer valve, you can have additional circuits at lower temperatures.
