Installing to Apple Home Hub

I was induced to swap due to Nest 2 being made obsolete later this year. Had an electrician install the receiver. Both are connecting to the Home hub but the heating is not switching on. Does anyone have any ideas. I have uninstalled and factory reset both units. I found a Reddit thread that suggested installing to Home hub before adding to Tado app. Tried that but that didn’t work. Someone else said it doesn’t like 5ghz networks and to drop to 2ghz but I’ve no idea how to do that. This is so much more complicated than it needs to be. Considering returning for refund. Anyone else have any suggestions. Reluctant to pay for yet more professional support for something that I was told would be straight forward.

@Japster Hello. Sorry to hear you are having problems setting up your Tado X. Best to reach out to Tado support from the web chat on the main web page. Be prepared for the chat bot to ask lots of questions before you get a real person.

  • I just went through something similiar myself, what exactly did you install as the Apple Home hub can't call for heating on its own? I installed the Tado starter kit which included radiator thermostats, a wireless temperature sensor/thermostat and a wireless receiver. So either the temp sensor or the radiator thermostats call for heat. The Apple Home hub I can use to control and do auto on/off.
