Why do all the Tado-X devices show ‘good’ as the battery state until they are empty?
why do all of the Tado-X devices always show the battery states as ‘good’ until they suddenly notify that the battery is low and urgently needs replacing ?
If they actually reported the battery state of charge I could make sure to replace the lowest using the spare battery I have, then charge the replaced battery in preparation for replacing the next lowest, rather than suddenly getting a notification that 4 batteries are ‘low’ and all need urgent replacement.
Surely for the price Tado can do better than this ?

I suspect that 'urgent' in tado parlance is over egging it a tad! However given these batteries are in common use for other than heating, I guess there are very few who only have one spare.

I doubt that the Tado X battery packs are in use anywhere else.
