Bleeding radiators with trvs

Hi

May be a daft question but I have tado TRV’s on all my radiators apart from one. If I want to bleed my system is there any special steps I need to follow? Do all valves need to be set to high temp to allow water to flow in?

@YNS In terms of bleeding, I have always taken any smart TRV as equal to dumb. I just bleed as normal and have done for 4 odd years with smarts (not all tado)

  • Thanks for the reply, going to be a dumb question but does that mean opening all the valves fully before bleeding?

Nope - Just start on furthest away and work to nearest, 1 at a time till done.

With closed valves, and heater off. That is how it is advised

The TRV is only fitted to one side of the radiator so when you bleed the radiator water will flow from the open end valve.
If nothing flows, (no water or air) then your system has lost pressure and needs topping up.
