Does the Wireless Receiver control heating or just hot water?

Options

I have the tado Smart Termostat V3+ starter kit and Radiator Thermostats. I have a combi Potterton boiler.

The kit I have does not have a Wireless receiver that connects to the boiler. Do I need one to control heating, or does it just control hot water on regular boilers?

I do have the USB dongle that connects to the router.

Do I also need the Wireless receiver to control central heating?

The wireless receiver has 3 functions:

    1) Connects a wireless thermostat to the system

    2) Turns on the central heating

3 Turns on the hot water cylinder - optional

If your current thermostat is wired then you don’t need the wireless receiver. Just connect the Tado wall thermostat to the boiler and use the app to link it to the smart radiator valves. The valves will then communicate with the wall thermostat to request boiler on/off.
