Internet bridge ethernet issues?

Options

Hi,

I've got my tado internet bridge connected to a Mikrotik switch and I notice tons of ethernet errors on the port tado is connected to. It's a new device (the tado), I had it for a couple of weeks and I just noticed this.

Port 8 is the one the bridge is hooked up to and I've manually configured it as 10 Mbps half duplex. Other settings (auto config), different port or a different cable make no difference.

What's going on? While I'm not experiencing noticeable problems, I don't think this is normal and I've also read in the community here some posts about people complaining their bridge is having connection issues, so I wonder if they experience something similar also.

The bridge has firmware 92.1

Same issue here. Horrible packet loss to the Tado internet bridge. I've tried CISCO Meraki, ASUS and Netgear switches. The issue is with the Tado bridge and definitely not with your networking equipment.

I've logged two tickets now and not had a response. Any luck on your side?

No, I didn't open a support ticket yet. For me, the internet bridge seems to be operating ok, despite the occasional reported errors. Ping is consistent, with an 6ms average response time and occasional spikes of around 14-30 ms.

I just moved (today) the bridge to another switch (still Mikrotik, but a CRS112) and it's been running for about 6 hours. Still have 2 "Tx Collision" and 2 "Tx Single Collision" and more deferred packets (which I understand are normal in a half duplex connection), but no ethernet checksum errors just yet.

On the other hand, the old switch the bridge was connected to started reporting some cable issues on multiple ports after moving and connecting it to other devices, but ... no errors. So, it's weird. I'll just keep an eye on things for the moment.

Heya you got any more intel on this? I can’t make the tado bridge to work on my PoE switch either

You may need to connect the internet dongle via a cheap low-speed switch. Our rellie moved the dongle upstairs for better coverage. He successfully uses an inexpensive TP-Link wifi extender with an ethernet port and separate USB power block.
