Boilermate 2000 wiring

Options

I'm upgrading from a tado extension (CH only), to a tado V3+ with CH and HW control.

I have a boilermate 2000, and wondering on the correct way to wire it.

My current Tado is connected to the 'roomstat' terminals at the bottom of this image.

Terminals 21, 22, and 23 are bridged. Meaning the tank is kept hot 24/7. When the thermostat requires heat, the roomstat terminal is closed which switches on the heating pump to warm the radiators.

This is obviously a very inefficient method as boiler is effectively always on.

When wiring in the new TadoV3+ I have two options.

  1. Keep it wired to the roomstat the same as the existing Tado, and wire the HW side to terminal 22 (removing the bridge)
  2. Bridge the roomstat and wire the tado into terminals 21 and 22.
