Heating motorised valve staying open while call for water but no call for heat

I've had a tado extension kit fitted onto an s-plan system. I have an issue where this sequence happens:

  1. call for hot water in the app
  2. hot water motorised valve opens
  3. call for heat in the app
  4. heating motorised valve opens
  5. cancel the call for heat in the app
  6. heating motorised valve will not close.
  7. cancle call for hot water in the app.
  8. both motorised valves close at the same time.

As the valves switch on and off independently of each other, I'm conscious that there may be an issue with the extension kit/how the whole tado system is set up. Do you have any ideas of what this may be?

  • Is this a new install or existing? Assuming a new wireless stat and wireless receiver install … What is the boiler model? What programmer/room stat was replaced? When the app calls for Hot Water, the right hand white HW light on the wireless receiver should come ON, same for Heating on the adjacent CH light. Do they come ON and go OFF as expected from the App? It may take a few minutes for the receiver to respond. If the HW and CH lights on the wireless receiver turn ON/OFF as expected, it points to a wiring issue. Wiring issues can do unexpected things. The other common problem is a sticky zone-valve or faulty zone-valve motor.
