Disconnect original boiler timer?

Options
Hi there. I had a Tado wired thermostat connected to my Ariston combi boiler. Although all seemed well I realised it was not activating the boiler. The original boiler timer is still controlling it. Should this have been disconnected?

You might need to remove it altogether in that case

It depends on how it’s wired, but there’s a possibility you could leave it connected and set to permanently on, that should then effectively take it out of circuit and allow the Tado to control the boiler.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried it off, auto, on, the little black clock tabs all towards the centre or all to the periphery of the clock face. The boiler seems to ‘obey’ the clock rather than Tado.

Did the Tado replace an existing wired thermostat that was working? If so, then it may not have been wired up correctly. Worth checking too if that was the case
