Wired or wireless thermostat to work with a Vaillant EcoTec Plus 624?

After my Honeywell thermostat is no longer working, I'm exploring buying a Tado Smart Thermostat v3 to monitor the heating & water and want to know whether to buy a wired or wireless version. I have a Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 624 System Boiler and a Joule water cylinder.

Is the Tado compatible with these and should I get a wired or wireless version?

    I think it will depend on how the old Honeywell thermostat is connected to the boiler. Can you provide details of your old thermostat?
