Thermostat

Options

I had todo installed 6 years ago and the thermostat replaced a wired Honeywell.

In the room where the thermostat is located we now have a log burner so thermostat thinks whole house is warm.

Can I replace the wired taco thermostat with a taco wireless thermostat so I can move it around the home and if yes what do I need and how do you do it

Tado sell a wireless temperature sensor which you might be able to pair with your existing wired thermostat. The wired thermostat stays where it is and will switch the boiler on/off but it will no longer operate as a temperature sensor.

The alternative is to use the Wireless Receiver device, but this needs a Neutral and Live as it is not battery powered. Your current wired thermostat may not have a Neutral wire in the cable, it's not always needed.

I suggest you speak to customer support and ask them if you can pair the wireless temperature sensor to your current installation. It seems to be an option in some setups and will be cheaper/easier to install.
