Wireless Temp Sensor - E0 - Run out of Ideas

Options
Hi All,

I have a refurb Temp Sensor which has never really worked in so much as the longest I’ve managed to keep it connected has been a day or two, despite it being 5m direct line of sight from the hub and not even the furthest device from said hub.

Two things I would ask…
1. What haven’t I tried yet?
2. Is my process for resetting to factory settings correct? It doesn’t appear to do anything.

I’ve tried the following and am not sure what else is left.

1. Re-pairing
Process:
- Followed instructions here - https://support.tado.com/en/articles/3405530-my-smart-thermostat-or-wireless-temperature-sensor-shows-an-e0-error-how-can-i-fix-this
- Tried multiple different proximities to do hub ranging 2m - 8m

Outcome:
- E0 error

2. Resetting the pairing
Process:
- Followed instructions here - https://support.tado.com/en/articles/3387242-how-can-i-reset-the-pairing-of-my-smart-thermostat-or-wireless-temperature-sensor
- Multiple different proximities to do hub ranging 2m - 8m

Outcome:
- E0 error

3. Remove From Home
Process:
- Left batteries out for 10 mins tried again
- Multiple different proximities to do hub ranging 2m - 8m

Outcome:
- E0 error
- Device is partially set up in app

4. Reset to Factory Settings
Process:
Couldn't find an article to confirm this was the correct process but this is what I tried...
- Hold button 3 seconds to get pair icon
- Hold 3 seconds again to enter settings menu
- Go to ! and bin (❗️🗑️ ) setting and press button

Outcome:
- Nothing happens apparently. Device returns to temperature view.

It seems pretty clear that it’s faulty. I would ask Tado to exchange or refund it.

    Get tado° to replace it.......if it's been refurbished......it looks like it's still faulty 🤔

Have dropped them a message. Hopefully, they can do something about it.
