What's the purpose of "tado° Wireless Temperature Sensor - Wifi Add-On"

is an Add-On. But I'm wondering what's its purpose? I mean if I already have a Tado Thermostat, why should I want to buy this Add-On?

    You pair it with a smart TRV so that you can measure the room temperature at a distance from the hot radiator.
