Hi

I fitted a hive but I could only have the hot water on or the heating on but when i selected both nothing would come on. The wiring was simple as I already had a horstmann 2chanel programmer on the wall which works fine. Will the Tado work?

Probably the Extension Kit is not paired with the bridge and/or configured correctly.
