Heating only comes on with hot water

Over recent weeks I’d noticed that the boiler (ideal logicmax h24) was sometimes not firing up even when tado was calling for heat.
Problem seemed to be inconsistent but was generally resolved by turning the boiler off and on again at the mains.
Have realised however that this problem never occurs if the boiler is also being asked to heat hot water. Then it fires up straight away and we get heating.
Any idea how to resolve this as don’t want to have to always schedule hot water to coincide with heating coming on.

Do you have a Y Plan system? Can be identified by a 3-port motorised zone valve.

We’ve just installed Tado and are having the same issue. Don’t know if we have a Y plan system0

@Stagger_gee, did it work correctly before and has now started doing this? If so, it's very possible the valve is sticking
@KateTW, this sounds like a wiring or configuration issue if it was working before tado and now isn't. You will need to identify the type of system.
S plan will have two separate motorised valves with only two pipe connections on each.
Y plan has one motorised valve with three pipe connections to divert the flow to rads, hot water or both
