Apparently existing HomePods already have temperature and humidity sensors built in and these will be enabled with Software Update 16.3.

I wonder how much this will be able to integrate with the Tado infrastructure. Probably only through HomeKit as I'm sure Tado doesn't want people to be able to buy a HomePod (with all the additional features it provides) for around 20 quid more than their own remote sensor (which basically has one job).

I really can't see Tado integrating this at all......why would they....it doesn't make economic sense for them.

Wouldn’t it be possible to write a shortcut that gathers all the temperature readings from HomePods and other temp sensors around the house and average that to set a target temperature for the Tado thermostat or turn it off if the average temperature is higher than the target temperature?
