How to turn off heater without closing radiator valves

Now when al rooms have reached the desired temperature, both the heater is turned off and all radiator valves are closed instead of just turning off the heater.
This has 2 drawbacks:
Firstly the batteries of the smart radiator thermostats deplete faster as they have to close and open each time.
Secondly some central heating systems keep their pump on for some time after shutting down the heater to distribute the remaining thermal energy to the rooms. However when all radiator valves are closed, this remaining heat gets lost.
