BT hub 2
I have disabled the Smart Set Up as suggested, with no luck. I have proven the port on the router by connecting my laptop through it (all) I have also used dhcp software on my laptop that I use for work connecting devices that need dhcp when setting up. I can get the router light to come on and not flash so it has taken the ip from the software but if a then connect to the router it starts flashing again. (I did switch of dhcp on the router and tried this with no luck.)
Any ideas gratefully received.

Did you resolve this? You've not said if you have the 3 lights lit up on the bridge.
Not sure if this helps but I've just installed Tado to my BT Hub2. Initially I was getting drop outs which I think were related to the distance from the bridge to the boiler control. I've not installed a powerline in my kitchen which is closer to the boiler control. I've not had any issues since.
Secondly, it might be worth checking what IP your Tado bridge is being assigned from your router. I've noticed it uses a static IP.

Could the BT Hub 2 port be incapable of running at 10 Mbps half duplex as required by the bridge?
Perhaps the ethernet port on the powerline adapter used by @virtualm can do that speed and then the other end connects to the BT Hub 2 at whatever speed they negotiate?
The port test with a laptop just confirms the port is working at whatever speed the laptop and Hub 2 negotiate at

Originally I had my bridge plugged into my BT Hub2 and the USB power from the router. I was getting intermittent disconnects to TADO. It was driving me mad, so then I powerlined the Bridge and it seems fine.
I did read somewhere that the bridge doesn't link being powered USB from the HUB (especially if BT disconnect the router overnight). Powerline is restricted to 100mb but all seems well now I've done this.
What we really need is better diagnostics from the bridge in the APP, not just saying connected. It should show signal strength.

No issues having my bridge powered off the Vodafone hub but some hubs turn off the USB in certain circumstances which obviously causes problems0
