Wiring Tado to Volt Free Ariston with Mechanical Timer
Hi
We have a static caravan with an Ariston E-Combi Evo combi boiler. Want to control heating only (single zone).
As the boiler is volt free, how do I power the receiver?
Presume the kit comes with the 4 core cable only. Would I ignore the live and neutral and just wire in grey and black cables only?
Kit not bought yet - wanted to make sure all was OK before buying.
Thanks

Use a smart thermostat wired to the boiler which is battery powered (The wired starter kit) or if you use the wireless receiver there will still be a power source in the boiler, or it can be run from a separate mains power source. I think the bigger issue is your Internet connection though. Where would your router be? The Tado bridge needs to be attached to it.0

Internet is fine. Router is in the boiler cupboard and a really strong, reliable connection.
When you say mains power source, what is this? Simple cable connected to a 3A plug and wired n?

Yup exactly, though there’ll be a fused spur in the boiler too. Or just go battery powered with the wired thermostat.0
