Geo location and away/ holiday mode

I'm being told different things. I'm looking to purchase tado thermostat buy I'm keen to know the following
Geo location
Holiday mode
If I turn geolocation on, I understand I can set up to be aware I'm x metres, x miles from my house but does it turn off the heating and / or water completely In the summer ( water only) and winter ( water and heating)
Also does it turn it back on when I arrive
Next question if I set the holiday mode on, so I say I'm away for 10 days again, does it turn off the heating and, or water and turn it on again when I return after 10 days
And do I need subscription to enable the above
