replacing existing wireless smart thermostat

Options
Several times now my wireless smart thermostat has lost pairing with the bridge. (it's out of warranty).
So in the morning we have no heating or hot water.
It took me several attempts to get it to start working again this last time.
Can I simply replace the existing smart thermostat with a new one?

Yes, but generally this is generally an RF problem, you might find relocating the bridge improves things . . .

Thanks for info, although I think problem may be caused by battery leaking onto contacts in thermostat. Had a warning that batteries were low, when I went to change them i noted wet around + end of one battery. Also some slight corrosion around contacts. I've cleaned them up but not sure if this has completely solved the issue.

I had same issue, a leaky battery corroded the contact in my wireless thermostat and it’s just over a year old! Original Duracell batteries supplied by Tado! Cleaned the contacts with mild acid (white vinegar) but still didn’t work. I had to rub contact with emery paper to get a good contact!
I will be setting a yearly reminder to check all battery operated thermostats for signs of leakage.
