Hard wired thermostat not working

A few days ago I fitted a Tado wireless starter kit to replace my old thermostats for heating and hot water. After having to get Tado to add hot water to the app it is working fine.
Then I wanted to add two hard wired thermostats to control the wet UF in part of the house. Problems!
I replaced the old Towerstat RSP with the Tado. Not working! Thermostat appears to switch on but not registering at the UF manifold so I haven't tried to fit other one.
Contacted customer services a day ago but no response...
They may have altered settings remotely but have not told me so.
Thermostat settings now are:
Living room: TS HC01 HW / EK /R01
Conservatory: R01 HC03 HW/ EK X not working
Kitchen: R01 HC02 HW/ EK X not yet fitted.
