How do I attach a smart trv to this bathroom rail

    Replace the valve, probably a job for a plumber . . .

    Ditto. Job for a plumber and secure the rad to the floor.

    An alternative solution is to move the towel rail onto your hot water circuit if you have one. That way it will get hot whenever HW is heating which would be every day. Might not be too hard to do but your plumber will be able to advise

    We did that with our bathroom and ensuite when they were refurbed and it works much better without having to have a TRV in warm/humid rooms

    A second alternative is also to add a secondary electric element to the towel rail. This could be energised when the HW circuit is on.
