Wireless thermostat broken and NOTHING works!
Hi - the previous night, my wireless thermostat stopped working (I tried changing batteries, calling support, etc, but it's definitely broken). Now, nothing in the C/H or hot water systems works. The app shows everything as offline and when I press the manual hot water and central heating buttons on the extension box, the boiler starts, but then stops almost immediately. I can't even get the immersion heater in the hot water cylinder to turn on.
Is this because without a working wireless thermostat, nothing is ever going to work, via the app or manually? If so, this makes the wireless thermostat a rather worrying single point of total failure of the entire C/H and hot water system.
Anyone got any tips to at least let me turn the hot water on somehow? There are times when I have a 96 year old relative staying, and no C/H or hot water in winter would be very serious?

Sorry you are experiencing this issue. I can understand your frustration. Have you removed the internet bridge and rebooted your internet router. For the immersion heater, there should be a switch on the side of the wall, which allows you to override the system. Ensure you only keep it on for an hour, which should be enough hot water for the day.

Hi - there have been no breaks in the home internet service, but I have already shut down and re-started the home internet router and the Tado internet router several times. What is odd is that the manual controls for the immersion heater do not work, but these are via a separate control box, which is controlled at least partly by the Tado installation…and the Tado installation doesn't work without the wireless thermostat.
I am going to have to get a new wireless thermostat and hope this fixes the problem. I remain worried that without Tado working, there is no way of turning on C/H or hot water.

@donl so I don't have the wireless receiver but as I understand it there are 3 buttons on the top. The "main" one above the WiFi like symbol and then one above the heating and hot water symbols.
Annoyingly, the ones above the heating and hot water symbols are merely test buttons. Pressing them will result in a very short test.
I think you need to actually press the main button to get heating and hot water on manually, as per this page:
It might also be worth looking at the support portal to understand the lights on the wireless receiver. It may provide clues as to where the error lies.

Hi - genius suggestion! We now appear to have C/H and hot water. I have also ordered a new wireless thermostat as the old one is dead
I cannot thank you enough for all of the info plus the link.
