Thermostat reading

My thermostat is reading 22c but it’s no-where near that, it’s cold in here.
Any one else having or had this problem?

Can you please give a tad more info? What type of thermostat? Is this particular to one room?

  • it’s a Smart Thermostat RU3865662208

It’s kept in one room normally but I have moved it to others for experiment, it always reads higher I it feels

  • @Fatlad ,

have you verified its reading with a reliable thermometer?

Is there a chance that another outside influence is causing it to read higher? e.g. heat from a radiator nearby or sunlight coming in through a window?

I checked the account belonging to your forum email address. Looking at yesterday morning, I'm seeing that the thermostat was offline for roughly 40 minutes. Shortly after it came back, there was a very sudden and steep spike in measured temperature. The temperature was dropping after the device came back online, then 5 minutes after the lowest temp measurement of 19.7 it was reading 22.0 degrees and was dropping again from there on. An hour later it was 19.1 degrees. I'm also seeing pairing activity (as in; physically touching buttons) around this time.

I am not seeing unexpected activity of the relay of the wireless receiver connected to the boiler. That device also shows no connection issues. My presumption is thus that there was no unexpected heating.

One reason for a sudden peak in measured temperature happens when people hold the device in their hands or touch it for a longer period of time. Simply due to the 37 degree temperature of your hands transferring to the device. Now I was not there, so I don't know what really happened. But is what I described plausible for your situation?
