Tado X device to control air conditioning

Hi all,

I have to build a new heating system and air conditioning system and I'd like to use the new Tado X series. The X series is not compatible with the V3+ one and I'd like to control the air conditioning too with a device like this: https://shop.tado.com/en-row/products/smart-ac-control-v3

I don't see a similar option for the Tado X series though, am I looking for the wrong thing?

Thank you.

    Hello @D4NI3L3

If you'd like a tado° cooling solution, V3+ is the best option. We have concentrated on producing heating products for tado° X for the moment being.

  • Thank you for the kind answer. Well I'm mainly interested in the heating but I'd like to control the air conditioning too if possible, even if it means to wait for new devices to come out. Where I actually live I have the V3+ installed and I think it would be better to jump on the new series for a new home.

So, are you planning (or thinking) to add more devices for Tado X in the future?

  • @D4NI3L3

It would probably take a couple of years to develop a cooling option for X, so even if we decided today to start working on that, it wouldn't be available for a long while.

I don't think that just because tado° X is new you should lend greater preference to that line of products. V3+ and X cater to different customers (X is especially useful to customers with larger than average homes, for instance). V3+ is suitable for a lot of our customers and remains our most used line of devices / services 🙂

I think since you are most familiar with V3+, sticking to V3+ products would serve you well.

  • Thank you again. My new home will be larger than average and I will have an hybrid system with boiler and heat pump (and probably solar panels too). I'm going to live there no sooner than a year from now.

This is why I would like to go with Tado X. I'll think about going again with V3+ anyway but I don't think there are many differences in terms of installation and management.

About the cooling I can wait or maybe I could think for another solution. :)
