Problem adding tado X Wireless Thermostat to Alexa
Even though I follow all the instructions on the taro app (settings>device linking>copy code) as well as the Alexa app (add device>other>paste code) I’m not able to add the thermostat as a Matter device in Alexa. I keep getting a “Something went wrong - An unexpected error occurred. Please try angain later” and a GS014 error code. Any idea how to solve this?

Same error. And I double checked and both devices are compatible Thread bridges0 -
I have the same problem since a few days.
I have Echo Show 10, Echo Dot 5 and Echo Spot 2024.
I‘ve resettet my Wireless Temperature Sensor.
Added it in the Tado App and then tried to Connect it in the Alexa App.
Error Code GS014
I tried to get help from the Support Team.
At the Moment no Solution for that Problem0 -
Hello @cpzcpz
I just wanted to jump in this thread to let you and other community members know that we've updated our Help Center article on how to set-up tado° X devices with Alexa.
Among some of the changes:- We've clarified the importance of Thread Border Routers in addition to the Alexa Matter Controller. we don’t recommend setting up your tado° devices only in the Alexa app. This is because Amazon has not yet implemented NAT64 in its Thread border routers, so they can’t process important tado° firmware and security updates. This is why you need a compatible Thread border router in addition to your Alexa Matter controller to properly connect your tado° devices.
- We've also emphasized that, while adding devices in the Alexa app works for V3+, tado° X can follow different process. It is recommended that the tado° app be used as follows:
- Open the tado° app.
- Select Settings > Rooms and devices and select the device that you want to add.
- Scroll down and select Device linking.
- On iOS, copy the setup code when prompted and proceed to the Alexa app to add the device. Paste the code when prompted.
- On Android, select the Alexa icon and follow the pop-up instructions to link your device.
- Repeat for each device.
(Alternatively, you can add the device from the Alexa app. Note that this method only applies to brand new devices (not yet added to the tado° app), or devices that have just undergone a Factory Reset).
Please let us know if this new information is helpful to you.

@dany360
Sorry it did not work.
Which of the procedures did you try, exactly?0 -
I just followed the article
1 Did a factory reset on the room thermostat
2 Removed the room thermostat from Tado.
3 Added it to Alexa. This time it didn’t complain about it already being connected elsewhere.
4 Added the room thermostat to Tado as I did originally.
5. Renamed thermostat from default name back to Lounge
6 Re-entered my schedule
All now working and can be controlled from Alexa.
Note because I called the thermostat Lounge Thermostat my commands have to include Lounge Thermostat, I.e. I have to ask “what is the lounge thermostat temperature”, “increase the lounge temperature temperature by 1 degree” etc, etc.
