Setup for centralized heating without direct boiler control
Hello,
I need an advise which setup to use to control my house heating. I have centralized heating in my condominium, which is not under my control. I have a radiators with manual valves and I want to replace these manual valves with the ones that can control ambient temperature in the room.
My questions:
- is built-in valve temperature sensor is enough? because my doughter's room is pretty big and heating up air close to the radiator does not necessary heat it near the bed.
- what external (wall-mounted) air temp sensors can I use if needed?
- does smart valve has built-in schedule support or I should buy a smart hub or bridge for cloud support in order to have more advanced functions?
thanks in advance for your answers

@dvaletin Hello. Best to check your required functionality/questions with Tado support from the chat function on their web site.
The X version is not yet launched in the UK. Trying to help from the community … reading your descriptions/questions and assuming you will use V3+ to replace standard 'dumb' TRVs:
- First, check the make/model of your TRV valves with the compatibility chart.
- The answer for your home sounds like the 'Thermostat starter kit'. You can add TRVs to replace the dumb TRVs on your radiators.
- Tado is 'cloud-based'. You'll need a reliable internet connection. Interested users can request the 'off-line schedule' feature via the community pages.
- You can add a wireless temperature sensor as the measuring device in your daughter's room. It'll be much more accurate too (+/- 0.1 deg C versus +/-0.5 deg C).
- Yes, you can create your own schedule for each Room. Example below.
