Vaillant connection with Tado

I am connecting my tado° Wireless Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+with boiler Vaillant ecoTEC pro 28H combi. I want to use eBUS connection on my Boiler side. When connecting with my receiver should I connect it to CH COM and CH NO, in a same way as if connecting with RT in boiler. Also, it seems that if using eBUS I would need to bridge RT.

Did you already purchase tado° devices? If not, please be sure to get V3+ as tado° X does not support eBUS. V3+ does.

With regards to the wiring, once you purchase your tado° devices, instructions will be provided in the app. However, I would encourage you to perform a compatibility check with one of our agents before making your purchase. You can reach them via live chat. Although tado° is compatible with the vast majority of European boilers, there are some exceptions.

Yes, I have purchased tado v3 and the receiver is for GB. I am worried that although my boiler supports the eBus connection, I will have trouble to connect it to tado receiver, as apparently GB version does not support eBUS, you need european version for this?

After confirming with my colleagues, yes indeed the EU Boiler Reciever would be the better option for using Ebus in the UK. This is because the UK Boiler Programmer does not have the bus connectors.

I have been in contact with one of your technicians, and I have been told that I can still connect from eBUS (on the boiler) to GB tado receiver using COM and ON connection and it would still work. Is that not the case then?

My colleague, Alberto, sent you a message to clarify.

In short, the UK version does not have the connectors to be wired to a boiler via digital BUS.

Its NO and COM connectors are designed only for relay wiring.

In order to use the eBus interface to control your boiler you need the Wireless Receiver EU version that has the Bus connectors (+ and -).
