Bridge X vs Receiver X vs 3rd party Thread Border
I have just installed a starter kit consisting of Receiver X and Wireless Room Thermostat. I have 2 problems which potentially lead me to ripping it out and returning it.
- I can’t connect with Alexa. I get the dreaded device linking error so can’t get a code. I have read numerous posts and numerous solutions nearly all of which seem completely unreasonable in a plug and play world. One solution talks about the importance of thread borders because Alexa don’t support NAT64. Doesn’t Receiver X take care of this? Would Bridge X make any difference?
- This may not be related but in my set up I have been tidying up wiring. This has meant a few power cycles. My concern here is that every time I power up I have to remove a battery in the room thermostat for it to reconnect. This is useless for me if we get a power cut while I am away.
Can someone please assist and reassure me that I should keep this system? I’m currently at 75% return, 25% keep.
