Where's the Comfort/Economy Settings Gone?

I've just upgraded from my Tado V3 to Tado X, which mean's I've had to set up my home in the app again from scratch. On of the settings I'm struggling to find again is the comfort/economy one, where you set your preference for when you want Tado to 'hit' the target temperature, e.g. if you have a schedule set for 18 degrees at 09:00, you can choose whether this means that the heating starts at 09:00, or whether it starts earlier to ensure that by 09:00 it's up to 18.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

    Hello @NeilJones

Indeed, Early Start and Preheat before arrival are not yet available with our X line. Apologies for the inconvenience. From what I understand, these should be added in the future.

From your description, I assume you mean 'Early Start', which is in the room schedule page accessed via the cog icon:

But, 'Preheat Before Arrival' also uses similar terminology, which affects how Tado should adjust the thermostat when you are out of the house:

  • Thanks - that's familiar but I don't have any of those settings in my iOS app!

And I was also wondering if the distance-based preheating had just got dropped somewhere along the last few years, but it seems it's still active, though again, not there for me.

I also seem to have lost the option to schedule by day, M-F+S&S or week; I've had to do everything by day.

Are you running 'traditional' tado° or tado° X? Though I can't see why that functionality shouldn't also be available on X. In fact having just replaced (and supposedly upgraded) 13 TRVs, 2 room stats and a controller from V3+ to X I'd be pretty hacked off if it isn't!

Ahh yes, mine is V3+. Perhaps these settings are missing from the 'upgraded' X.

  • It looks like it, following some research. I've now posted a bit of a rant in another thread.

Ouch. Glad I didn't 'upgrade' my system then
