Tado X install - what to do with Drayton dial thermostat
Hi. I successfully installed the wireless Tado X programmer. It was simple like for like wire swap from an old Drayton style control CH/HW control box (see picture). I also set up the Wireless Thermostat.
However, when I removed the Drayton dial thermostat, it all stopped working. Commands from the Tado X programmer just didn't wake the boiler. So I guess it's in the circuit somewhere. I have put it back and whacked it up to 30 and the programmer and the boiler are talking again.
Can anyone advise what I might be able to do here? Do I need an electrician? Thanks.

You'll need to bypass the old Drayton thermostat (probably just a matter of joining a couple of wires that currently run to it), or just leave it cranked up to 30 as you've currently done.
The original Tado° used to include a bridging backplate and blanking plate to replace your old room thermostat, along with instructions on how to bridge it.
