Battery plate won't open (TRV)

On one of my four TRVs the battery plate won't release on one side. What's the trick to open it?

Predictably the batteries in it are now showing as "low" so I need to change them, but can't get to them 😪

    Ok, the answer seemed to be "force it harder".

    Fixed.

    To be honest, I don't see this question very often. I have asked some colleagues if there's a special trick, but it typically is a pretty easy process 😉

    Thumb on the silver piece and slide towards the middle/black pin and it should open

    Is the compartment deformed in some way?

    Hi Emcee, thanks for your reply.

    No, the compartment isn't deformed as far as I can see. I am using Amazon batteries, which seem to be slightly too big for the compartments, but that's the same in all my TRVs. Most of them open fairly easily. This particular one, not so much.

    Someone with a little more expertise in BF(and perhaps "I") has now managed it by forcing it more than I dared to do.
