New Boiler

Hi,

So I had a boiler which has been replaced. My old boiler was one which worked with a hot water tank and cold water tank in the loft. It was a Veismann Vitodens boiler.

I have just replaced this with a new Valliant combination boiler and want to know if I can still use the Tado system with this new boiler as the installer said it could not be used.

If not, how do I go about getting Tado work with my new Valliant boiler.

Let me know.

Thanks

Rohan

  • Which precise model of Vaillant boier is it? Also contact Tado sales and give them the precise details, explain you have a V series syste and want to keep it.

    Likely situation is this:

    1. Worst case, the Tado system can control the Vaillant's CH side, in dumb switching mode
    2. Possible case, the Tado system may be able to modulate the Vaillant CH side in digital mode.

To know what steps to take, need the precise details of your boiler and whether you have any zones set up (if so, what kind, how many) on the CH side.

  • Hi,

I now have a Valliant ecoTech 832 combination boiler.

    Thanks

  • The Ecotec 832 uses EMS-BUS, which Tado V3+ series supports in D07 mode. Thats really good news as it helps to modulate it indigital mode, rather than old school, on-off switching and saves you money. The X series doesnt support it.

What Tado kit do you presently have?
