Geofencing - Help wanted to turn off completely.
Our two zone Tado system is installed in a village hall and controlled from the app remotely. I'm at a loss to understand how I can switch Geofencing off permanently and am unable to find simple instructions on Tado website.
Will simply setting the Home and Away settings to 'Home' for both zones do the trick. Time blocks are different for every day of the week, can be five in number for a particular day and change frequently - do I really need to turn Geofencing Control to Off for every single time block?

SOLVED!
It was, after all very simple to disable Geofencing. You just set Location Based Control to off for each linked phone in the People setting. This was answered by a real person at Tado as opposed to their chatbot that gave completely the wrong answer saying that geofencing had to be set off for every individual time block.

Try settings.... People... Remove mobiles... Not sure... Mine have no mob hence not using geo0

Bazback9 - we need mobiles to run the apps!

Also try... Settings.. Geofencing.. Only use devices that you usually carry0

Sorry, Whether we carry our phones or not is not material. We do not live or even often visit the village hall where the thermostats are located. We do not wish to use Geofencing at all. Never, ever.

If you dont register any mobiles.. Geofencing will never ever work!0

Sorry Bazback9 but your replies are not very helpful. If mobiles are not linked then how do we use the app. Maybe you not understand my original question, would you like me to rephrase it?

@VH42 Hello. If you don’t pay for the automatic service, ‘home’ or ‘away’ is a manual setting on your mobile device. With paid-for automatic services … location for your mobile devices, phone or tablet .. In the Tado App: Settings > Geofencing > include devices location > OFF. You’ll need to do this for all the devices you use to control the heating. I’d also change Location services > Tado OFF.
Hope this helps.
On the opposite side of the coin, I’ve spent an hour tonight getting a new iPhone to recognise it’s location and tell Tado. 🤓0 -
We don't pay for the extra service. The Tado chatbot says we have to manually set it to off for each time block on all the linked phones. This is not practical in our set up. Blocks are between 4 and 6 each day and each day is unique. No week is identical to the previous one as some blocks are only valid on a fortnightly basis, others for limited periods, plus there are occasional users of the hall at weekends - all of these blocks will be unique. Plus there are three of us who use our phones to control the heating so manually changing every block on every phone is just not going to work. This problem is enough for us to uninstall the system. Hopefully a real person will contact me tomorrow (at least the chatbot says they will!
