Tado extension kit - de-registering

Hi,

I bought a tado extension kit second hand, which I now want to install. I have been unable to register/activate it because it hasn't been deregistered by the previous owner, who is not responding to my communications. Is there anything at all I can do or is this just now e-waste? It would be such a shame if that's the case as it seems like perfectly good hardware has to be thrown away because it can't be reset!

Thanks @samd I hope someone can help save it. Tado seem to just want you to bin it, which is a bit sad as there is nothing wrong with the hardware. It does make you feel like you never really own the Tado kit, even though you are meant to control your heating with it!
