Added radiator thermostats and now feels cooler!

Hi, we previously only had the main thermostat controlling our heating. It was located in the living area and we found the bedrooms and bathroom weren’t as warm as we’d like. So we added radiator thermostats to our system, but now find the living area feels much cooler and most other places for that matter. It’s set at 21 degrees, and says that’s the temperature, but it definitely isn’t the same as when we used the main thermostat. Paying over £3/£4 a day gas as it is, so don’t really want to be upping the temperature. Hope we haven’t wasted money on the radiator thermostats. Thought they’d be an improvement! Anyone else switched from one to another?

Did you add the radiator thermostats in the living area to the same room as where the main thermostat already was? And add additional rooms for each other room?

Yes, it was supposed to be the best combination, although I have no idea what the function of the thermostat is now. We have that set at 21 degrees too.

You can define the thermostat as the measurement device of that room. This usually functions better because the temperature near the radiators isn't necessarily the same as elsewhere in the room. The radiator thermostats then only control the water flow, the thermostat controls the temperature.

Thanks for your response Rob. I’ll give this a try :)
