Hot water control

I am a bit confused as to what the hot water control is supposed to do. With our previous Atag system we could turn the water off completely. Now we have an Intergas boiler and Tado. Turning water off does not seem to do much or anything.
Can I turn it off completely or not //?

    I have the same problem. Connected to my intergas kombi kompakt with opentherm it has an option in the app to control the water temperature or switch it off. But it doesn’t do anything
