Herz GP radiator valve 'cogwheel' adapter?

Hi,

I'm trying to fit a tado radiator thermostat onto my radiators. It looks like i have Herz GP radiator control valves - straight model (5523).

Now underneath the white knob is a little cogwheel on a round thick base which is secured with an allen key.

It looks absolutely nothing like any of the valves in the compatibilty guide:

Does anybody know of an adapter or a way to fit the tado thermostat (without replacing the entire valve with a M30 x 1.5 mm valve?)

Thanks,

Jeremy

  • That valve is not a thermostatic valve - it’s just a regular manual valve. The grub screw on the side adjusts the maximum amount the valve can be opened, limiting the flow of hot water into the radiator.

You will need to replace the Herz valve with a thermostatic valve before you can fit a Tado smart valve.

  • Thanks Grilled Cheese... That's what I was afraid of.
