Unassigned zone controller to wired smart thermostat

I have installed several wired smart thermostats. Most installations went well, however 2 of them do not have zone controllers assigned to them - the others all do. I followed the same installation procedure for all of them.

Has anyone come across this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

    It's a job for Tado I'm afraid.
    You need to contact Tado and ask for their assistance.

    @richardkirk do you mean you've installed several wired thermostats in the same property, or different properties?

    You can normally set the zone controller in the app: Settings, Rooms and Devices, click room name and then set the zone controller at the bottom.

    However, depending on the setup, and wiring, a wired thermostat can itself be a zone controller if it's directly switching a zone valve.
