Tado wiring question: change from old Theben thermostat to Tado

Options

Dears,

I have a Tado for a few years now in my home and all is working like a charm.

I now want to install a Tado in my parents' house, but the wiring seems more complicated than expected.

Attached a picture of the actual wiring of the Theben thermostat:

and a scheme I found on internet of a similar Theben thermostat:

Before buying a Tado, can someone explain me how the new wiring should be done?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Have you asked Tado support? As far as I can see that’s a normal relay connection so you’d usually just wire com and NO to a wired Tado thermostat. It’s battery powered so no need for L and N.

Really depends on the rest of the wiring though, and whether your parents have a system or a combi boiler.

    Thank you.

I have installed the Tado thermostat without any problem.

It was a big surprise that during the installation process, it asked me for the current thermostat type and model and the old Theben thermostat was listed. So, I had the information on how to connect all wires.

Final question: I would have loved to see the detailed installation instructions specifically for the old thermostat before buying the Tado. Is there any possibility to see these instructions without actually installing/creating an account?
