I cannot connect my thermostat to the boiler ?

I am having difficulty connecting my smart thermostat to my boiler the extension kit, internet bridge and stat all seem to be paired but when I alter the temperature on the stat or turn it off, it is not having any effect on the boiler, do you have any suggestions ?
