Make the wireless thermostat capable of switching 13amps for heaters etc.

It could if you use the receiver to operate a separate relay/contactor. I imagine the cost would be significantly higher if it was rated at 13A switching and it would only be required for a small number of users.

You could get a smart plug, and set up an automation in HomeKit / Google Home etc.
This would be wire free and miles cheaper0 -
I modified a standard radiator valve to switch a contactor. With the tado radiator installed, I can now control my electric kitchen plinth heater along with my central heating system using tado without having to use a second system (google etc.) for just that one heater.
Mudmouse: you "imagine" it would be significantly more expensive, and " it would only be required for a small number of users". Evidence? Costings? Surveys? No? Thought not!-1
