Worcester boiler with greenstar comfort ii rf

Hi all,
I've read all related posts on the forum but still can't figure out what we need to do to set up our system.
Following the tado in app install guide it simply says to remove the batteries from the old greenstar wireless controller, put batteries in Tado's controller and hey presto the thing should just connect to the boiler. It does not. We restarted the boiler, the green light just flashes on the RF receiver on the boiler, not making a connection.
What are the options here? Is tado not compatible with the rf reciever built into the boiler? What do we need to do now?
