230V installation cabling questions

Hi,

I'm getting my tado° Smart Thermostat tomorrow.

I want to install it by replacing the existing thermostat, which is connected to a Saunier Duval isotwin combination boiler.

The following images are of the cables going into the existing thermostat:

Note that the earth cable in the image was never installed.

What will be the cabling for the Smart Thermostat ?

Since the Smart Thermostat is powered by batteries, I assume the following:

  • the blue cable from terminal 1 and the red cable from terminal 2 (i.e. 230V AC input) will be connected to the parking terminals (not used) on the Smart Thermostat baseplate
  • the orange cable from terminal 5 will be connected to the COM terminal on the Smart Thermostat baseplate
  • the brown cable from terminal 4 will be connected to the NO terminal on the Smart Thermostat baseplate

Do the experts agree with my assumption above ?

Many thanks !

Rob

  • Hi,

Please go to my.tado.com and create an account. You can then add the devices and will be given step-by-step installation instructions. Please note, that installing without these instructions other than by a qualified heating engineer will invalidate your warranty.

    Best regards,
