UFH and wireless vs wired thermostat
Hi,
I have and Vaillant new combi boiler for hot water and heating my apartment which has 4 rooms, 3 with radiators each with a tado smart TRVs and then our new extension that has water under floor heating which is controlled via a tado wireless thermostat. All 4 rooms are setup and controlled separately via the Tado app.
I have been running this system for almost a year and no issues, but i have just seen that Tado recommend the UFH should be run by a wired thermostat.
My question is why should it be via a wired thermostat as everything seems to be working fine for me? And why would a wireless vs wired thermostat make a difference?
Thanks,
James

It would be impossible to say without seeing a wiring diagram but if it’s working for you I would leave it. I suspect what’s happening is the wireless receiver fires the boiler, which sends heating to the rads and the UFH on the same loop. The tado trvs stop water coming into the rads so it only goes to the ufh. Seems like a pretty good solution to me.0

First principles … If it’s working, leave it alone.

@johnnyp78 yeah, sorry i should have said that the installer connected the wireless receiver straight to the boiler
