Tado X

Good morning,
I would like to have some clarifications regarding the new Tado X:

  • Can it be installed in a system with a condominium boiler with underfloor heating (water)?
  • Isn't there a manual where it is possible to see the assembly with the connection of the wires?
  • What are its functions of use? Can it be set so that it turns on at a certain day and/or time?
  • Is there a winter/summer function? I ask because I would not like it to start during the summer months.
    Thanks!

    Hello @The_next_tado_user

    - In theory, tado° X it should be compatibly with hydronic (water-based) underfloor heating. Water-based underfloor heating systems are usually controlled by one wired thermostat per room and supplied by one central boiler, or district heating. tado° Smart Thermostats can replace these existing room thermostats. If you have multiple rooms with underfloor heating, you will need one Wired Smart Thermostat for each room that you would like to control with tado°. You can read more about this topic here.

    - Once you make your purchase and begin installation, the app will provide you with a step-by-step installation guide (so long as your system is compatible with tado°). You can reach out to one of our support agents via live chat to ask that they perform a compatibility check.

    - Yes, tado° X offers a Smart Schedule function. Your tado° account comes with a default Smart Schedule already set up. You can personalise this schedule to your liking. You can read more about this function here.

    - In the summer, you can set all Rooms to OFF in your app. Your devices will not call for heat unless temperatures drop bellow 5 °C. This functionality if called Frost Protection and is meant to protect your pipes from freezing should you forget to turn your devices back on come winter.
